While some of the first-round series weren’t that close, most of the games from the first round of the NBA playoffs were quite exciting.

Now, with the second round already underway, we’re inching closer to the presentation of the Larry O’Brien trophy.

With that in mind, ESPN analyst Mike Greenberg shared his list of the top-five playoff MVP candidates (via Get Up).

At No. 5, he chose Donovan Mitchell, who just had the second-most points combined in a Game 6 and Game 7 (89) in NBA playoff history, trailing only the legendary Allen Iverson.

Now, he’s set to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers as they take on the league-best Boston Celtics.

Joel Embiid got the nod at No. 4, which was kind of surprising considering the fact that the Philadelphia 76ers already lost in six games.

Still, he played through a knee injury and Bell’s palsy and still managed to put up big names despite being clearly limited.

Then, he chose reigning NBA Finals MVP Nikola Jokic, who’s got the Denver Nuggets in the second round.

Jokic has been an offensive wreaking ball, and he’s going to have to take another step forward if the Nuggets want to stand a chance to steal home-court advantage back.

Anthony Edwards was his choice at No. 2, and that’s hardly a surprise.

He’s led the Minnesota Timberwolves to a perfect 5-0 record, including a huge win over the reigning champions.

Last but not least, he talked about Jalen Brunson.

The New York Knicks are back in the second round, and Brunson has been the best point guard in the league this season.
