It seems increasingly likely that Paul George will walk away from the Los Angeles Clippers this summer.
All season long, Clippers fans have been waiting to hear any positive news about a contract extension between George and the team, but nothing has come.
According to Shams Charania, via Evan Sidery, the Clippers have tried to entice George to stay.
Charania said that the Clippers have made “multiple contract offers” to George below the max, but he hasn’t accepted any of them.
So, is it just a matter of time before George heads to a new team?

It sounds like George wants to test free agency and see what other franchises can offer him.
He’d be wise to do so because there are already numerous teams, including the Philadelphia 76ers, who may give him more than the Clippers can.
There were questions about George’s commitment to the Clippers all season long but they only increased when the team was eliminated from the playoffs in the opening round.
At the time, George was mum about his future plans and any extension with Los Angeles.
Back in January, the team signed Kawhi Leonard to a new three-year deal, which led many to think that George’s deal was on the way.
But it didn’t come and people thought this was a good indication that the team wasn’t completely committed to George and he wasn’t completely committed to them either.
Both George and James Harden could be free agents this summer, and their departures would greatly shake up the team.
However, perhaps that is what the Clippers need after yet another disappointing playoff run.
