As an NBA player, there’s no bigger moment than Game 7; it doesn’t matter if it’s in the first round or in the NBA Finals.
That’s why, whenever you see a player sitting out Game 7 with an injury, you know it’s serious and a reason to be concerned.
That was the case with Jarrett Allen and the Cleveland Cavaliers, as the big man was forced to miss the game with a rib injury.
Now, ESPN insider Brian Windhorst revealed that Allen is feeling serious discomfort and limitations when raising his arm, which is clearly a massive issue for a basketball player, let alone one who makes a living out of cleaning the glass (Via ESPN Cleveland).

Allen is one of the best rebounders in the league, and chances are the series vs. the Orlando Magic wouldn’t have gone to seven games if he had been there to keep them away from the glass.
The Cavaliers have matched up nicely with the Boston Celtics, and they desperately need their starting big man out there if they want to stand a chance to take down the No. 1 seed and the team with the best record in the league.
Needless to say, the fact that he missed Game 7 makes it seem like he’s not particularly close to making a return.
Evan Mobley will have his hands full in the paint, and it’ll be interesting to see what JB Bickerstaff has in mind to make up for this significant absence when his team heads to the TD Garden for Games 1 and 2.
