Jamal Murray of the Denver Nuggets may not be with his team during Game 3 in a few days but it won’t be because of injury or sickness.

During Monday night’s Game 2, a benched Murray threw a heat pack at referee Marc Davis during an angry outburst.

The moment was caught on camera and now many people think he will be facing a suspension by the NBA.

On “Get Up,” via NBACentral, analyst Timothy Legler hit Murray with a biting jab.

“He was 3-for-18. I’m not shocked he missed Marc Davis with that heat pack,” Legler said.

That’s a pretty tough criticism of Murray, but ultimately very accurate.

The Nuggets star was not having a good night even before he threw the heat pack during the second quarter.

He only scored two points for the entire first half and didn’t earn a single bucket during the opening quarter.

For the game, Murray only posted 8 points and shot just 3-of-18 from the field, which is a testament to how great and smothering the Minnesota defense is.

Murray’s actions were all caught on tape, even if the refs didn’t notice them at the time.

Because they have garnered so much attention online and in the media, there is no doubt that the league will respond, but how?

Will they take Murray out of the next game or just fine him?

Even with his limited output during Monday’s game, the Nuggets still want Murray in the days ahead.

When he is shooting well, he is a huge asset to the team and has delivered sensational buzzer-beating game-winners.

Murray can help his Nuggets get back in this series but he just has to play better and watch his temper.
