The New York Knicks haven’t been this good in quite a while, and a lot of that has to do with Jalen Brunson’s play.
Plenty of fans and analysts mocked them for giving him such a big contract despite being a bench player for most of his career, talking about nepotism and his ties to Leon Rose.
It didn’t take long before those people had to eat their words, and now, Brunson is playing like the best point guard in the Eastern Conference — perhaps even in the league.
That’s why plenty of people have jumped on board his hype train, and that includes former NFL QB Dan Orlovsky.
Brunson might be my favorite player in the NBA right now

The player-turned-analyst took to Twitter to admit that Brunson might be his favorite player right now, and he’s definitely not alone.
Brunson has made NBA history by becoming just the fourth player to score 40+ points in four consecutive playoff games, and that’s something that hadn’t been done since some guy called Michael Jordan did it in 1993.
Not LeBron James, not Kobe Bryant, not Kevin Durant, not Stephen Curry; Jalen Brunson did it.
Brunson was spectacular this season, yet he wasn’t an MVP finalist despite leading the ever-struggling Knicks to the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference.
He also wasn’t selected to start in the All-Star Game or to play for Team USA in the upcoming Olympics.
That’s fine, though, as he’ll continue to embrace that underdog persona and focus on what matters the most, which is finishing the job and winning an NBA championship.
