The Los Angeles Clippers had one of their best regular seasons in years and were fully healthy for much of it.
Sadly, it once again came to a crashing halt last week when they were pushed out of the opening round of the playoffs by the Dallas Mavericks.
Stephen A. Smith had a suggestion for the team on Tuesday’s episode of “First Take.”
“Clean house,” he told the Clippers, saying that it was time to blow up the team and start over.
“Hell no. Clean house.”

Smith understands that the Clippers are about to open a new arena in the fall and they want Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, James Harden, and the rest of the roster to be there to fire up the crowd.
But he also thinks that this iteration of the team simply isn’t working and it’s time to throw in the towel and try something new.
He reminded viewers that Leonard isn’t healthy when it counts, Harden has consistent problems in the playoffs, and George is likely going to be moving to another team.
In fact, he believes that George would be wise to say goodbye to the Clippers because he would have a much better chance of winning a title in Philadelphia with the 76ers.
For years now, the Clippers have been spending copious amounts of money to create the roster they have today.
On paper, it was a lineup that looked unbeatable.
Instead, it was a lineup that continually fell short and left fans disappointed.
Because of that, Smith thinks the time has come for the Clippers to part ways with everyone on the team.
But what are the chances of that really happening?
For better or for worse, at least some of the team’s big stars will return next season and they will try again.
