The Cleveland Cavaliers are back in the second round of the playoffs.

Led by Donovan Mitchell’s stellar play, they’ve won their first postseason series without LeBron James for the first time in 31 years.

Unfortunately for them, this might be the end of the road, as they’re going to go against the No. 1 seeded Boston Celtics.

At least, that’s how Brian Windhorst feels.

Talking on UNSPORTSMANLIKE Radio, the ESPN insider stated that the Cavs simply have no shot at beating the Celtics.

While he acknowledged that they’ve matched up well against them over the past couple of years and it’s not a matchup they fear, he doesn’t think their play in the first round was encouraging, not even with Jarrett Allen on the court.

Windhorst questioned J.B. Bickerstaff’s game-planning, schemes, and lineups, and he believes all star players not named Donovan Mitchell failed to live up to the moment.

As harsh as this might sound, he could be right.

The Orlando Magic were young and inexperienced, and they still managed to force them to seven games, with the Cavs missing an opportunity to close them out in six.

At the end of the day, there’s always a chance a great player could extend a series, and Mitchell is playing some of the best basketball of his career right now.

But the Celtics are stacked with talent at every position, and it doesn’t seem like Bickerstaff might be able to out-coach Joe Mazzulla to make up for their less-talented roster.
