The NBA playoffs have gotten off to a fun start, and while the first round went mostly as expected, there was one result that stood out and seemed to make an emphatic statement.

Colin Cowherd has noticed just like many other fans have that one team is elevating above everyone and is now changing the landscape of the entire league and forcing everyone to reevaluate their playoff predictions.

Cowherd said on The Herd today “I think Denver is cooked. I think it’s over.” in response to the Minnesota Timberwolves’ emphatic 106-80 dismantling of the defending champion Denver Nuggets in Game 2 last night.

Saying that the Nuggets are cooked seems like a hot take, but they gave little indication in Game 2 that they have any answers for this T’Wolves team.

Nikola Jokic has been exhausted due to dealing with a trio of 7-footers being thrown at him and Jamal Murray’s shooting woes are hitting new lows as he has been swarmed with a full-court press every time he gets the ball.

Murray was so frustrated in Game 2 that he threw a towel and a heat pack on the floor en route to a 3-18 shooting night for eight points.

This is the most adversity Denver has faced in the postseason since the bubble, and coming back in this series is going to take a dramatic shift in effort, physicality, and overall offensive strategy.

We have seen teams blow 2-0 leads before, so you can’t rule the Nuggets out whatsoever.

It’ll be interesting to see what kind of response they can cook up over the three off days before Game 3.
