The Cincinnati Bengals’ 2023 season died with Joe Burrow when he went down with a torn wrist ligament in their tenth game of the season, and even though Jake Browning performed admirably in his place, the team wasn’t going anywhere without it’s franchise quarterback.
Burrow had surgery on the wrist and is still working through his recovery, though there is little concern he won’t be ready for training camp as things appear to be in a good place.
Burrow spoke with the media today and said that “there’s still good days and bad days” with his wrist, but shared that it feels good enough to practice and he is working on keeping his mindset in a good place one day at a time.

Burrow has been throwing since April, so this is not a new development, and his receivers who have worked out with him this offseason have said that he looks healthy and is throwing with his normal velocity.
Burrow said that he reached out to other players who have had similar injuries but couldn’t find any quarterbacks who have gone through it, as they are the only players who require the pliability and use of the wrist’s full range of motion.
This is a positive sign for Burrow, as he appears to be going through a mostly typical offseason without being hampered too much by his injury.
He’ll have plenty of time to learn a new offense after losing offensive coordinator Brian Callahan to the Tennessee Titans, as well as being without Tyler Boyd and Joe Mixon, two other foundational pieces on that side of the ball.
