After making easy work of the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the NBA playoffs, the defending NBA champions seemed to be firing on all cylinders and ready to make another deep run in the postseason with a great chance of repeating.

Unfortunately for Mike Malone’s squad, they underestimated the Minnesota Timberwolves heading into the second round of the playoffs, as Anthony Edwards and company came to play and put on a show in the first two games of the series in the Mile High City.

Although winning in Denver is no easy task, even for the best teams in the NBA, the Timberwolves were able to win the first two games of this series before it shifts to Minnesota, which has put tremendous pressure on the defending champions.

Things have gotten so bad for the Nuggets that star guard Jamal Murray lost his cool in Game 2, as he threw a heating pad onto the floor during the game and then refused to talk to the media after the game, which Chris Broussard of FOX Sports believes he should be suspended for via First Things First.

“I hate having a series decided because a player isn’t available,” Broussard said. “But Jamal Murray must be suspended.”

As of right now, the NBA hasn’t made a ruling on whether Murray will be punished or not, but it is safe to say that he will be subject to a hefty fine at the very least.

However, Murray’s actions will cost the team drastically if he is suspended for Game 3 in Minnesota, as the team needs him now more than ever.
