It’s been a while since the Oklahoma City Thunder were this good.
Their fan base has gone through everything since the team moved there from Seattle.
They watched them build a potential dynasty in the NBA Draft, only to see them break up the team.
Then, they watched Russell Westbrook stay and keep them in contention with multiple sidekicks, followed by an impressive run with Chris Paul.
The Thunder then struggled without any star players, stacking up draft picks and giving the keys to the team to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and they’re now reaping those rewards.
That’s why it was so heartwarming to see the fans rallying together and supporting their team after Game 1 vs. the Dallas Mavericks (via Thunder Film Room).

It’s not usual to see a team get right back in contention so quickly and build through the draft.
That’s why Sam Presti deserves plenty of credit and should probably be considered one of the best — if not the best — General Manager in the game.
This team had a vision and executed it, and they always know how to maximize their assets.
They put together a team that made sense and had the potential to be very good for years to come.
Now, one year after not even making the playoffs, they have the best record in the West, and are up 1-0 in the Western Conference Semifinals.
