It has been a strange offseason in Cincinnati, as the Bengals have had to watch their franchise quarterback rehab a wrist injury, see their offensive coordinator Brian Callahan leave to become head coach of the Tennessee Titans, trade running back Joe Mixon to the Houston Texans, and have had two of their stars request trades in Tee Higgins and Trey Hendrickson.

Burrow spoke with the media recently and addressed the trade requests, lending his support to both of his teammates.

Around The NFL posted an article including some of Burrow’s input on the trade requests, and he said: “Both of those guys have earned everything that’s come to them.”

Burrow added that he wants them both on the team next year and that he “supports them in every way” in terms of the contract situations.

Hendrickson and Higgins are both looking for new contracts, as Higgins is playing on the franchise tag for $21.8 million this season and Hendrickson is signed through 2025 after signing a 1-year extension last year.

They are the two highest-paid players on the team this season behind Burrow, and the Bengals aren’t in a position to lose either one if they plan on making a run back to the Super Bowl in the near future.

Wide receivers and sack artists are getting paid left and right, so if the Bengals don’t pay these two, somebody else absolutely will.

Higgins has more leverage than Hendrickson given his contract is expiring, while Hendrickson just signed an extension through 2025.

At this point of the offseason, it’s unlikely either gets traded, but you never know.
