With the Los Angeles Lakers recently parting ways with head coach Darvin Ham after two seasons, the coaching search has begun once again for the storied NBA franchise, and a handful of candidates have been linked to the coaching vacancy.
One of those candidates linked to the Lakers is current NBA analyst and LeBron James podcast co-host JJ Redick, who seems to have become a candidate simply due to his connection to the four-time NBA champion.
Before being named as a candidate for the Lakers’ coaching vacancy, Redick was named as a candidate for the Charlotte Hornets to be Steve Clifford’s successor.
With Redick being a popular name mentioned for these head coaching jobs around the league, Colin Cowherd of FOX Sports wasn’t all that impressed with the former NBA star for wearing his hat backward on a recent podcast, via NBACentral.
“He looks like a guy that’s going to move my couch,” Cowherd said.

Cowherd has a point to a certain extent, as someone interviewing for NBA head coaching jobs, especially someone with zero experience, should be taking a more professional approach to everything he does in a public forum.
However, it isn’t a big deal that he’s wearing his hat backward on a podcast that he does in his free time, as someone shouldn’t be judged for that, but Cowherd is old school and views NBA executives and coaches a certain way.
The real question is whether it impacts his status as a candidate for coaching jobs, which should be the concern for the NBA analyst and podcaster.
