The defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets came into the second round of the NBA playoffs riding high, with Nikola Jokic and company firing on all cylinders after beating the Los Angeles Lakers in the postseason for a second straight season with relative ease.
Heading into the second round, the competition would get tougher, with the defending champions facing Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves, who are having a breakout season while becoming a legitimate title contender in the Western Conference.
Even though the Timberwolves were expected to put up a fight against the Nuggets, no one predicted they’d be up 2-0 in the series heading into Game 3 on Friday night in Minneapolis.
In Game 2, Nuggets star Jamal Murray let his emotions get the best of him as he threw a heat pack on the basketball floor from the bench, which resulted in a hefty fine from the NBA but didn’t merit a suspension, even though some believe he should’ve been suspended for Game 3.
Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch made an appearance on “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” and shared his reaction to Murray not getting suspended by the league.
“I didn’t expect the suspension, to be honest, and I’m fine with that,” Finch said.

Clearly, Finch is focused on the next game, and that’s precisely the mindset he should have, even though he’s probably disappointed the league didn’t suspend Murray for Game 3.
Fortunately for Finch, the Timberwolves have the Nuggets right where they want them and can take a commanding lead on Friday on their home floor while coming another step closer to reaching the Western Conference Finals.
