The New York Knicks are two wins away from the Eastern Conference Finals.

Tom Thibodeau’s team doesn’t particularly play a pretty brand of basketball, but they get the job done.

Despite not being the most talented — and definitely not the deepest team, the Knicks play harder than anybody else in the league, and they have had a somewhat easy path to this point.

That’s why Charles Barkley believes they’re going to get ‘stomped’ by the Boston Celtics in the next round.

Talking on NBA on TNT, the Hall of Famer power forward poked fun at New Yorkers, calling them overrated and too full of themselves.

He stated that the Knicks weren’t as good as they say, and that’s not going to change just because they have great street food (Via Awful Announcing).

“Y’all think y’all the greatest thing since sliced bread. Y’all ain’t that good in New York. Y’all overrated.”

“Just ’cause y’all make good pizza and good bagels…I ain’t gonna say nothing bad about the street meat. I love the street meat.”pic.twitter.com/6I246iZ180

All jokes aside, Barkley might be right to some degree.

There’s no way to take anything away from the Knicks, not even if they went against a decimated Joel Embiid in the first round and then against the Indiana Pacers instead of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard in the second round.

At the end of the day, teams can only beat whoever’s in front of them, and the Knicks have beaten some very good teams during the season.

Then again, from there to being a championship contender, that’s a whole different story.

Coach Thibodeau is infamous for playing his players heavy minutes, and he’s played mostly seven guys during the playoffs.

That might not be sustainable for much longer, especially if you go against a team that’s at least ten players deep.
