Vince Carter will be celebrated by the rest of the NBA when he is inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame this year.
This honor has been a long time coming and Carter is clearly excited for it.
Sitting down with the crew on “Run It Back,” Carter spoke about his selection and revealed one of the people who will introduce him and induct him into the Hall.
“I can confirm T-Mac [Tracy McGrady] will be there, he’s one of the guys that I asked, and he was like, ‘Hell yeah, I was waiting for you to call me!’” Carter said.
He said several people will induct him so while McGrady will be there, other stars will also be on stage when Carter’s big moment comes.

There are 13 inductees in the class of 2024, featuring others like Chauncey Billups, Michael Cooper, and Jerry West (as a contributor).
When someone is selected for the Hall of Fame, they are given the honor of choosing who will induct them.
It’s not a surprise that Carter went with McGrady because the two have a very long history.
They played together on the Toronto Raptors for two seasons before McGrady moved on to the Orlando Magic.
Of course, Carter stuck around in Toronto for many more years and became a household name, particularly because of his historic dunking skills.
Carter would also play for the Magic, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings, and Atlanta Hawks before retiring in 2020.
Carter and McGrady have remained close over the years, not only because of their time together in the NBA but also because they are cousins.
Now they get to share this very special moment.
The Hall of Fame will be inducted on October 12 and 13.
