The Minnesota Timberwolves are riding high after rising to a 2-0 lead over the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the playoffs.

But what chance do the Timberwolves have of sweeping the reigning champions?

According to Kendrick Perkins, that is exactly what they are going to do.

Speaking on “First Take,” Perkins said that Minnesota will take the Nuggets down in the next two games, leading to a shocking sweep and their entry to the Western Conference Finals.

Perkins pointed out that the Timberwolves have minimized most of the Nuggets’ big stars, including Nikola Jokic, who isn’t looking like his regular self and has suffered shooting woes because of the Timberwolves.

But it’s the power of Minnesota and especially Anthony Edwards that will lead to the sweep, according to Perkins.

Edwards has been out of his mind during the first two games, averaging 35 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5 assists on a stunning 60.9% from the field.

He has been playing with a sort of determination and energy that is lifting the rest of his team and pushing them forward.

He has been downright electric and perhaps the biggest reason for the team’s back-to-back wins.

The team’s defense has been spectacular all year and they have been bringing that same sort of power to the Nuggets.

As Perkins noted, Minnesota’s defense is only going to get better because Rudy Gobert will be playing again.

Plus, the series is moving to Minnesota’s home court, which will give them even more of a boost.

For several reasons, the Nuggets are now the underdogs in this series but will they be swept like Perkins is predicting?
