Many people are still dissecting the recent game between the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers, when the Cavaliers were able to completely silence the Celtics and earn a massive 118-94 win.
Speaking on ESPN, via Big_Maine100 on Twitter, Chiney Ogwumike said that the Celtics are currently in the midst of an “identity crisis” that cost them the game.
She also added that it could cost them more.
Ogwumike compared current coach Joe Mazzulla to his predecessor Ime Udoka.
Their personalities are starkly different and that has rubbed off on the team.
Additionally, there are a lot of questions about the team, who they are, and what sort of direction they want to move in.

Ogwumike said that Jayson Tatum deserves 50% of the blame for the loss.
She claims this because Tatum is the leader of the team and he isn’t showing the sort of energy and drive that the Celtics need.
She reminded viewers of Marcus Smart, the former Boston star who played passionately and with a big personality.
Without him, the Celtics are now looking to Mazzulla and Tatum for their identity, their tempo, and their direction.
In Game 2, neither of them delivered what the team needed.
Through the last five games, Tatum has averaged 20.2 points, which is his fewest over a five-game span in the postseason since 2019.
This has a lot of people concerned because if Tatum isn’t scoring very well and isn’t guiding his teammates, the Celtics are in a bad spot.
Statistically, the Celtics have been the best team in the league all season.
But Ogwumike says that the team’s lack of identity is starting to hurt them at the worst time.
