The Boston Celtics have everything they need to be the most dominant team in the league.

They’ve blown out teams multiple times this season, even in the playoffs.

However, it seems like they also have a tendency to mail games in every now and then.

History repeated itself in Game 2 of their second-round series vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Just like in the first round vs. the Miami Heat, they didn’t show up ready to play at home for Game 2, losing a game they should’ve won.

Nonetheless, despite the similarities, Jaylen Brown believes each situation is unique.

That’s why when asked if they had the same mindset after Game 2 vs. the Cavs as they had when they lost to the Heat, he stated that he can’t expect things to go the same way, which is why they must control what they can control and be the tougher team (via Josue Pavon).

“It’s a new series, a new game. We can’t expect it to go the same way, we gotta establish what we want… gotta come out and be the harder playing team,” Brown said.

Jaylen Brown when asked if the feeling of heading into Game 3 against the #Cavs with the series tied is similar to facing MIA:

The Cavaliers have matched up well vs. the Celtics lately, but they’re not in the same tier as them by any means.

Donovan Mitchell is an elite playoff performer, and he’s been on a roll during the playoffs, contrary to what has happened with Jayson Tatum.

Even so, with all the depth they have at every position, there’s no excuse for the Celtics this time around.

They must bounce back in the same way they did against the Heat, making a statement and making sure to close out the series in as few games as possible, especially with a potential date with the New York Knicks on deck.
