The Los Angeles Lakers’ pursuit of a replacement is officially underway.
Darvin Ham was the fall guy for their shortcomings this season, which was far from a surprise.
Ham didn’t seem to have the locker room’s respect or support, and that’s not a winning formula, especially if you coach a team like the Los Angeles Lakers.
This will now be the fourth coach they will have in seven years with LeBron James, who has earned a ‘coach killer’ reputation throughout the course of his career.
With that in mind, and considering the fact that James holds all the leverage about his future, the Lakers must find a guy he likes to be their next coach.
That’s why, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, they’re currently ‘intrigued’ with JJ Redick as a potential option (via Awful Announcing).

Per Woj, the Lakers are doing their due diligence on the former player-turned-analyst.
He also believes they’re going to start asking for permission to interview several assistant coaches.
Redick has a close relationship with LeBron, as the two just started a podcast together.
Also, he’s quite a knowledgeable player, as he’s shown in his multiple media appearances and his podcasts.
Then again, he’s also the same age as LeBron and has no previous coaching experience, and the Lakers’ issues might run deeper than just who’s in charge of holding the clipboard on the sidelines.
