The Dallas Mavericks are on their way to pulling off another perceived upset as they won Game 3 over the Oklahoma City Thunder to take a 2-1 series lead in the Western Conference Semifinals.

The Mavericks stole Game 2 on the road and managed to hold on in Game 3 against a Thunder team that had control in the first half.

Luka Doncic hasn’t looked like himself on the floor as he’s clearly hobbled by multiple injuries, but he still managed to contribute with 22 points, 15 rebounds, and five assists in 40 minutes.

In year’s past, that sort of statline would’ve resulted in a playoff loss but Doncic has a capable co-star in Kyrie Irving who can take over in the second halves when he runs out of steam.

Doncic deserves credit for gutting through injuries and playing heavy minutes and he admitted that his entire body is in pain via ESPN.

“Everything,” Doncic said.

Doncic has been seen limping after each game and it’s anyone’s guess how long his body will hold up as the series continues on.

Oklahoma City may be down in the series, but it’s hard for them to feel like they’re out of it if Doncic isn’t 100 percent.

Dallas got saved by another clutch performance from Irving who has looked like his prime self on the floor, but he alone won’t be able to drag the Mavericks across the finish line.

For now, Doncic should be able to suit up for Game 4 but his physical wear and tear will be worth monitoring throughout the rest of the series.
