The 2024 NBA Playoffs are in full swing and the second round has already produced some fireworks as none of the remaining teams are undefeated.
Championship favorites like the Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets lost a game, while the Minnesota Timberwolves look like the favorite after taking a 2-1 series lead in the Western Conference Semifinals over the defending champions.
Parity is hard to come by in the NBA given the previous era of stars teaming up with each other, but this year there are several teams that have a legitimate case to win it all.
Boston and Denver are considered the favorites to come out of their respective conferences, though teams like Minnesota and the New York Knicks are looking to butt into the conversation.
There are also the Indiana Pacers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Dallas Mavericks looking to crash the party.
However, Lance Medow believes there are only three teams that should be considered contenders via Mad Dog Sports Radio.
“To me, it’s three teams: It’s Boston, Denver, Minnesota,” Medow said.

It’s hard to argue with Medow because the Celtics, Nuggets, and Timberwolves have what it takes to win it all because of their collective defensive personnel, outside shooting, and star power.
Boston and Denver have Finals experience, while Minnesota arguably has the best player left in the playoffs in Anthony Edwards.
While the other teams shouldn’t be ruled out because anything can happen in the playoffs, it’s hard to imagine any of them beating the top-3 perceived teams in a full seven-game series.
