Months ago, LeBron James and the NBA and basketball community survived a major scare.
Bronny James collapsed on the floor during practice at USC, suffering cardiac arrest and putting his career in jeopardy.
LeBron and Bronny reportedly traveled to Minneapolis to see a specialist, and he was eventually cleared to suit up for the Trojans midway through the NCAA season.
In an unprecedented move, Bronny decided to declare for the NBA Draft while also entering the transfer portal to maintain his college eligibility.
Now, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN shared some great news about his future as a pro, as the NBA’s Fitness to Play panel has officially given him the green light to play professionally, leaving all doubts about his health and his heart behind.
ESPN Sources with @Draftexpress: In the aftermath of his cardiac arrest and a procedure to repair a congenital heart defect nine months ago, the NBA’s Fitness to Play panel has medically cleared USC’s Bronny James to be drafted and play in the league. Story soon. pic.twitter.com/P8ci337NrA

There have been plenty of doubts and mixed reviews about Bronny as a player, but the timing might be perfect for him.
This is the weakest NBA Draft class we’ve seen in a decade or so, so even if he’s not NBA-ready or a highly-touted prospect, he’s likely still going to make his way to the league and, who knows? Maybe even join his father on the court.
