The Phoenix Suns are in a lot of trouble, and it goes way beyond who’s coaching them.
Frank Vogel was their scapegoat after a disappointing season, but they never truly stood a chance.
We’re talking about a team without depth, or a point guard, and their current salary cap situation will get them stuck in basketball purgatory for years.
That’s unless they make some big moves.
With that in mind, former NBA player Kendrick Perkins urged them to trade Bradley Beal.
Talking on ESPN’s “Get Up,” Perkins claimed that the Big 3 era was over with, adding that they could not afford to lose Devin Booker or Kevin Durant.

He has a valid point, but the problem is that no one is going to take Beal’s deal.
For starters, he would have to waive his no-trade clause, meaning the Suns would have to send him to a favorable situation for him.
On top of that, he’s still owed $150 million over the next three years, and he’s been hurt and inefficient for most of the past couple of years.
The Suns don’t have tradable assets to attach to Beal, and if anything, they should look to replenish their draft arsenal, not decimate it even further.
Perkins is right in the sense that not even a great coach like Mike Budenholzer will be able to work a miracle with this kind of roster.
But the fact of the matter is that if the Suns really want to improve their roster, they will have to part ways with either Durant or Booker.
