Bronny James has officially been medically cleared to play in the NBA.
Of course, this wasn’t much of a surprise, as he was cleared to resume his basketball career at USC after suffering cardiac arrest last year.
However, that pretty much means he’s definitely going to turn pro this season, although he has until May 29 to decide if he’s going to go back to college.
He entered the transfer portal, so he’s not going back to USC, even if that’s the case.
With that in mind, ESPN insider Brian Windhorst claimed that the Los Angeles Lakers would like to get their hands on Bronny, which is far from a surprise.

Talking on “Get Up,” he stated that his agent, Rich Paul, has been floating the idea around the league of getting both Bronny and LeBron in a package deal, although he doesn’t think other NBA teams are buying it.
Also, even though he doesn’t necessarily believe getting Bronny will be a priority for the Lakers, he’s definitely going to be on their list.
Windhorst also said that scouts want to hear from Bronny during the NBA Scouting Combine, as LeBron has been his voice throughout his entire career.
And even though his numbers in college were far from impressive, some analysts believe he’s better than that and he played out of position with the Trojans.
Whatever the case, we should get more input and clarity on this story as the NBA Draft keeps zooming in and he attends the combine this week.
