LeBron James sat courtside during Monday night’s Cleveland Cavaliers game against the Boston Celtics.
To some people, this was simply a sign of him supporting his first team and his home state.
But to others, like Skip Bayless, it was a calculated and “brilliant” move that had purpose behind it.
On “Undisputed,” Bayless claimed that James was there to feel the support of the crowd, especially because it was a tough game that didn’t have either Donovan Mitchell or Jarrett Allen.
Bayless also thinks that James arriving at the game puts pressure on the Los Angeles Lakers, suggesting to them that he is going to be a free agent soon and could leave and go back to the Cavaliers if he wanted.
LeBron means business. It was a brilliant move on his part. https://t.co/BT1xZUdBGk

Bayless stated that he knows how James’ mind works and is sure that the star wasn’t just there to enjoy the game.
Instead, it was all part of a plan to possibly open the door to a Cleveland return or get leverage over the Lakers.
Of course, many others will point out that James and his family are comfortable in Los Angeles and inside reports have stated that a deal with the Lakers is very likely this offseason.
Most of the reports say that James wants to retire as a Laker and is probably going to sign one last deal, his last, to remain with them for several more seasons.
However, if James did decide to leave the Lakers, it would be a major bombshell that would shake up the entire league.
The Cavaliers would just be one of the many teams attempting to sign James.
