The Boston Celtics have had the best record in the league for most of the season.
They secured home-court advantage through the NBA Finals, and they shouldn’t find much trouble in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
They’ve shown that by blowing out the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers multiple times, and they’re now one win away from the Eastern Conference Finals.
Nonetheless, we’ve also seen them at their worst multiple times in the postseason under head coach Joe Mazzulla, including some head-scratching losses in both Game 2s.
That’s why the second-year coach doesn’t want his team to rest on their laurels or be too confident ahead of Game 5.
Following their win, Mazzulla talked about how they cannot take this for granted and need to stay focused to finish the job (via NBA).

Truth be told, there would be no excuse or explanation for the Celtics not to make it to the NBA Finals.
Even there, they should be favored against anybody, considering how stacked their roster is.
Simply put, another postseason meltdown in Boston is simply unacceptable this time around.
They will go against either a young and unproven Indiana Pacers team with no feel for defense or against a decimated and beaten-up New York Knicks with an eight-man rotation and just one shot-creator.
It’s go-time for the Celtics, and anything short of a ring should be considered a failure.
