Nikola Jokic might not be the flashiest or more gracious player in the NBA.
However, every couple of plays, he still does something that makes people shake their heads in disbelief.
You can have the Defensive Player of the Year on him.
You can double him, cut his passing lanes, force him to put the ball on the floor, or even drive him all the way to the top of the arc with the clock winding down.
It just doesn’t matter.
Time and time again, the Serbian big man has catapulted the rock into the basket with 0.2 seconds left on the clock, throwing a high-arc haymaker that looked like it stood no chance of going down.
He also makes plays no one else seems capable of doing, mostly because he has unmatched court vision and can sling the rock in the tiniest spaces.
That’s why, following the Denver Nuggets’ win in Game 5, Anthony Edwards wasn’t even that mad.
If anything, he admitted he couldn’t help but laugh at the way Jokic dominated and gave him his flowers for being the MVP and the best player in the league (via Ben Golliver & Hoop Central).

“I just laugh. That’s all I can do. I can’t be mad…He’s the MVP. He’s the best player in the NBA. He showed it the last 3 games…He was special tonight. I have to give him his flowers. He was that guy.”

That’s right on point.
Of course, you have to be mad, frustrated, angry, and determined to get back and beat him.
But sometimes, there’s just nothing you can do against talent.
Jokic has become an unstoppable player, perhaps the best offensive force in the entire league.
And even though he’s not the most ripped guy or someone who’s going to wow you with his speed or athleticism, he’s the most dominant player in the game right now, and it’s not even close.
