The Denver Nuggets are one win away from another trip to the Western Conference Finals.

This team looked ready to pack their bags and head to Cancun just one week ago, and they look like the reigning NBA champions once again.

Unsurprisingly, a lot of that has had to do with Nikola Jokic and the way he’s carried the load for Mike Malone’s team.

That’s why, after watching him put up 40 points and 13 assists on them, Anthony Edwards had no choice but to tip his hat to him.

Following the loss, the former No. 1 pick called Jokic the best player in the league, stating that he had to give credit where it was due (via Bleacher Report).

That’s right on point, and props for the young star for this.

There are times when you just can’t do anything but give a guy his flowers, and Jokic is the most dominating player in the game right now.

Of course, his supporting cast also deserves plenty of credit for showing enough pride to take those punches and get right back on their feet.

Jamal Murray hasn’t been as consistent as he usually is, but Aaron Gordon has been a massive factor on both ends of the floor.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope continues to play stout defense, and Christian Braun and Michael Porter Jr. have knocked down some big and timely shots.

The Nuggets are a fine-tuned machine, and they proved why you just can’t ever count out the defending NBA champions, regardless of how difficult the situation might seem.
