Cavs Could Make A Big Decision This Offseason Between 2 Stars

The Cleveland Cavaliers have a lot of decisions to make over the next several months.

Despite making the playoffs and winning their opening series against the Orlando Magic, the Cavaliers fell to the Boston Celtics in the second round.

A big part of the team’s downfall against the Celtics was their injuries, as several of their marquee players were injured for games four and five.

Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen, and Caris LeVert were all out for Game 5, a big reason the team was unable to pull out a victory.

After seeing the team’s early playoff exit, fans and analysts are already talking about what’s next for this team.

According to Shams Charania via NBA Central, it appears that teams across the league anticipate the Cavaliers to make a big decision in the offseason.

This report indicates that the team will likely move on from Darius Garland or Mitchell, which would allow another team in the league to snatch them up.

Rival executives are preparing for Cleveland to choose between keeping Donovan Mitchell or Darius Garland, and they expect Garland’s camp to potentially look for a new team if Mitchell remains in Cleveland, per @ShamsCharania

Garland and Mitchell have been the heart and soul of this team for the past several seasons, but it could be time for a changing of the guard.

There has also been talk about the Cavaliers parting ways with JB Bickerstaff.

If that does happen, the Cavaliers might be even more likely to move on from Mitchell or Garland, as a new head coach could spend a lot of time working with just one star player.

The Cavaliers have had some success in recent seasons, but they haven’t quite captured the formula to make it back to the NBA Finals.
