The Cleveland Cavaliers are entering a make-or-break offseason for their project and their future.

Donovan Mitchell’s contract extension — or lack thereof — will be one of the biggest talking points in NBA circles for months to come, but that’s not the only thing they have to be worried about right now.

In his latest appearance on FanDuel TV’s “Run It Back,” NBA insider Shams Charania stated that the Cavs would evaluate the future of multiple players.

Mitchell’s situation is the obvious starting point here.

But even if he decides to stay, he believes they could look to find a suitor for Darius Garland, whose shot attempts and usage percentage have dropped since Mitchell arrived in town.

They will also assess their situation with Evan Mobley, who has yet to take a leap in his development and will be eligible for a max rookie contract extension.

The same goes for veteran big man Jarrett Allen, as there are doubts about his fit next to Mobley.

“The Cavs are going to seriously evaluate the fit between Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland…I’m told if Mitchell does decide to stay long term, Garland’s representation, they would have a conversation about the potential of a new home for him.”@ShamsCharania on the #Cavs pic.twitter.com/t0dGHTile3

If that wasn’t enough, they will reportedly take several days to assess J.B. Bickerstaff’s future, with Charania stating that it’s in serious jeopardy.

Apparently, the team had higher expectations for this postseason run, and they felt like there weren’t enough adjustments by the coaching staff.

NBA coaches don’t grow on trees, and a team shouldn’t fire their coach just for the sake of it, so they also have to evaluate potential replacements.

Whatever the case, it seems like we’ll be talking about the Cavaliers early and often in the offseason.
