For 15 seasons, JJ Redick made a living by throwing in daggers from 3-point range, even with one or two defenders in his face.
He finished his career with an accuracy of 41.5 percent from 3-point range, and he’s considered one of the greatest outside shooters of this generation.
Redick is now a commentator for ESPN’s coverage of NBA games, as well as a podcast co-host, and lately, he has been mentioned as a potential head coaching candidate.
Two surprise teams are rumored to have interest in possibly hiring him: the Cleveland Cavaliers and Detroit Pistons, per Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson.

The Cavaliers just got sent home in the second round of the playoffs by the Boston Celtics, and they now face an offseason of uncertainty and perhaps major change.
There is talk they may fire head coach J.B. Bickerstaff, and there are many rumors that franchise player Donovan Mitchell may force a trade this summer.
Mitchell has been rumored to be unhappy with the state of the team, and he can become a free agent next summer, which means Cleveland must decide whether to keep him and risk losing him, or to trade him and rebuild.
Hiring Redick could also be seen as a way to lure LeBron James, who can become a free agent this summer, to return to the team for a third stint.
The Pistons, despite having some intriguing young players, haven’t been able to get off the ground, and they finished with the NBA’s worst record at 14-68 this season.
Redick has no real coaching experience of any kind, so if he’s going to start out as a head coach right away, the best situation for him would be a young team such as the Pistons that won’t have any real expectations for a while.
