Bruce Brown won a championship with the Denver Nuggets last season so it was assumed he’d have an amazing run in 2023–24.

Unfortunately, his season has been filled with a couple of big moves and a lack of cohesion with his new teams.

Because of that, it’s expected that the Toronto Raptors will trade Brown by next month, around the time of the NBA Draft, according to Doug Smith, via NBACentral.

By June 29, the Raptors have to decide if they are going to exercise the option in Brown’s contract.

Smith reports that they will likely pick up that option and then trade Brown away quickly rather than wait until the 2025 trade season.

Brown has only been with the Raptors for a few months and came to the team as part of the Pascal Siakam deal.

During his time in Toronto, he has averaged 9.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.7 assists.

Last season during his championship run with the Nuggets, he scored 11.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists, going 48.3% from the field.

Brown’s knee has been a problem area for him all season and he has said that has limited his output a bit.

Beyond that, the Raptors are making plans to shake up their roster this summer, and shipping Brown away will help with that.

It’ll allow them to save money and use it elsewhere as they attempt to add more talent to the roster.

In fact, Brown likely won’t be the only star leaving the Raptors this summer.

Brown still has the chance to be a huge benefit to several teams across the league, especially once he is fully healthy.

If he is made available by the Raptors, you can expect Brown to be pursued by a number of front offices.
