During the Denver Nuggets’ series against the Los Angeles Lakers a few weeks ago, Jamal Murray was heralded as a hero for his team and a clutch superstar.
But during the current series against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Murray hasn’t received the same sort of praise.
Murray went just 4-of-18 from the field during Thursday night’s massive blowout loss to the Timberwolves and his response about it after the game was considered shameful by many.
On Friday’s “The Carton Show,” Craig Carton tore into Murray.
“Jamal Murray is a clown…[He’s] become a very unlikable dude in this playoff series,” Carton said.

Carton’s words are due to Murray’s bad shooting night and his comments about it after the game.
He scored just 10 points during the game with a dismal 22% field goal percentage, which is far from what the team needed from him.
His limited output was mostly due to Anthony Edwards, who fiercely guarded Murray throughout the night.
But after the loss, he was asked about Edwards’ defense and his response spoke volumes.
According to ClutchPoints, Murray said:
“Who? For me, it was more about my elbow at that point. Even some passes, my arm… it was more offensively for him. It wasn’t him guarding me.”
This comes just days after Murray found himself in serious hot water for throwing objects on the court during Game 2.
He faced a fine for that and avoided suspension but his actions left a bad taste in the mouths of many, including Carton.
Throughout this series, Murray has had problems in games and made bad choices off the court.
All of this has cast him in a bad light but he can redeem himself with a sensational performance in the must-win Game 7.
