On Thursday, the Minnesota Timberwolves took the court for Game 6 of their Western Conference semifinal series against the Denver Nuggets facing elimination.
Some doubted they had what it took to stave off elimination, but they did that, and then some — to the tune of a 115-70 blowout.
The series is set for a Game 7 in Colorado on Sunday, and Anthony Edwards said it will be “the greatest Game 7 of all time,” per the NBA’s official Twitter account.

This year’s playoffs have seemed like Edwards’ coming out party, and many have been comparing him to Michael Jordan, who is arguably the greatest basketball player of all time.
He had 43 points in Minnesota’s surprising Game 1 win, and he’s averaging 30.2 points on 53.5 percent shooting and 42.5 percent from 3-point range in 10 postseason games so far.
For his team to emerge victorious and advance to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2004, Edwards may have to have a Michael Jordan-like performance in Game 7.
The Nuggets are the defending NBA champs, and they reminded everyone of that fact by bouncing back after losing the first two games of this series to win the next three.
In some ways, they have the best home-court advantage in the league because of the altitude of the Mile High City, which can cause even supremely conditioned athletes to experience fatigue early in games.
But while Edwards could be expected to have a sensational Game 7, he will need help from his teammates, and all of them will need to truly believe they’re destined to win on Sunday.
