Although the 2024 NBA playoffs are still in full swing, teams have also been hard at work preparing for the upcoming 2024 NBA Draft.
The Atlanta Hawks were the shocking winner of the Draft Lottery as they only had about a three percent chance of earning the rights to the No. 1 pick.
Unfortunately for Atlanta, this year’s class is considered one of the weakest ones in recent memory as there’s no clear top prospect.
Alex Sarr is considered the safest bet to go No. 1 overall, though Zaccharie Risacher could make a case in the coming month.
Both Sarr and Risacher are international prospects that had strong showings with their respective teams, but Risacher could have given himself a leg up with his recent performance in the French playoff quarterfinals, via Jonathan Givony of ESPN.
“Zaccharie Risacher exploded for 28 points (5/7 3P), 6 rebounds in 29 minutes in game two of the French playoff quarterfinals. Career high outing in any platform for the No. 1 ranked prospect on ESPN’s Top 100, in an ultra aggressive performance,” Givony reported.

In the video clip, Risacher shows off his versatility on both ends draining outside jumpers and leaking out in transition for dunks.
He’s also got good size and a frame that will eventually fill out which bodes well for his NBA future.
As Givony notes in his narration, Risacher is the exact type of prospect that teams are looking for as he’s a 6-foot-10 wing that can do almost anything on the floor.
Sarr might have the inside track on going No. 1, but Risacher would be a fine option at that spot as well.
