The New York Knicks’ pursuit of an NBA championship is over.
Tom Thibodeau’s team fought hard, but eventually, their lack of depth was too much to overcome.
However, and even though this was a disappointing end to a promising season, the fans weren’t mad at the team at all.
Talking on The Carton Show, NBA analyst — and Knicks fan — Craig Carton acknowledged that it was impossible not to root for this team, as they made people believe in them and rally together.

The Knicks were the most banged-up team in the playoffs, and the fact that they still made it to seven games in the Eastern Conference Semifinals was remarkable.
Jalen Brunson was absolutely worn out, and OG Anunoby barely played in Game 7, and Mitchell Robinson, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Julius Randle were all out with injuries.
Add Tom Thibodeau’s borderline-insane workloads, and this is even more remarkable.
One could argue that the Knicks could’ve and should’ve won this series after being the No. 2 seed in the East, and that’s right.
But at the end of the day, health also matters, and they were against one of the youngest, fastest, and deepest teams in the league, so it wasn’t much of a shock to see the Indiana Pacers punch their tickets to the Eastern Conference Finals.
The Knicks still proved that they’re not that far behind, and they should be in the mix to get a star or two in the summer, so they’ll be back to this stage sooner rather than later.
