The Minnesota Timberwolves are special.

They’ve won games in different fashions this season, but the way they lock down on the defensive end of the floor is reminiscent of a basketball era most fans and analysts thought was dead.

That spectacular defense helped them make NBA history as they punched their tickets to the Western Conference Finals.

As pointed out by NBA insider Ben Golliver, they had the largest comeback in a Game 7 in NBA history, erasing a 20-point deficit in the third quarter and closing the game on a 60-32 run to get a huge 98-90 win.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have pulled off the biggest Game 7 comeback in NBA history, erasing a 20-point third quarter deficit to dethrone the defending champion Denver Nuggets 98-90 and reach first Western Conference finals since 2004.

The Timberwolves held the reigning NBA champions to just 37 points in the second half, and it’s not usual to see two teams finishing with under 100 points in today’s NBA.

It was a scrappy win and things weren’t always pretty, but Chris Finch’s players didn’t hesitate to put their bodies on the line, dive for every loose ball, and get physical to make sure to get this win.

The Timberwolves will now host another pesky defensive team in the Dallas Mavericks, and, just like them, they have a physical and big frontcourt that will make up for a solid chess match.

Anthony Edwards has blossomed like a two-way superstar right before our eyes, and his leadership on both ends of the floor has made him a fan favorite.

Now, he has to take care of business and make sure to take his team to the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history.
