It’s been just hours since the Minnesota Timberwolves punched their tickets to the Western Conference Finals.
However, you never have a second to relax in this league, especially not in the NBA playoffs.
That’s why the players are already thinking about their upcoming matchup.
With that in mind, Anthony Edwards stated that he’s going to be matched up with Kyrie Irving in the next series, and he’s wondering how he’s going to fare against him (via NBA on ESPN).

Edwards entered the league as a subpar defender, but he had the physical tools to be a major factor on that end of the floor.
Fast forward to today, and he’s now taking pride in his defense, hanging his hat on the fact that he’s getting to check some of the best offensive players in the game, and he’s lived up to that challenge more often than not.
Edwards is blossoming into a two-way superstar right before our eyes.
He’s becoming one of the most entertaining players to watch, and his swagger and demeanor have been contagious for the rest of his team.
The Timberwolves have the best defense in the game, and while they’re going to be in for a tough matchup with Irving and Luka Doncic, they have another elite stopper in Jaden McDaniels to handle the Slovenian star, all while Rudy Gobert anchors the paint and protects the rim.
It won’t be easy at all, but this will be one of the most entertaining and exciting playoff matchups we’ll see in quite a while.
