Draymond Green Says Injuries Aren’t An Excuse For Knicks

The New York Knicks weren’t healthy enough to finish the job this time around.

Jalen Brunson couldn’t carry the load on his own, and while Donte DiVincenzo came up huge in the close-out game, the star point guard was just worn out and gassed out.

They didn’t have Bojan Bogdanovic, Mitchell Robinson, and Julius Randle, and OG Anunoby barely played.

Nonetheless, Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green believes they shouldn’t use health — or lack thereof — as an excuse.

In the latest edition of his podcast, Green claimed that no one ever talked about injuries with the 2015 Cleveland Cavaliers or 2019 Golden State Warriors, adding that they just had to get the job done (via New York Basketball).

“Let’s not even go there “

Those may not be great examples, as the talk about those teams was always — and will always be — how hurt they were when they got to the biggest stage.

The Knicks never used injuries as an excuse.

Josh Hart didn’t complain about playing two games without leaving the court for a single second, and Jalen Brunson literally said that they wouldn’t use their lack of depth as an excuse not to get the job done vs. the Pacers.

Even so, it only makes sense that people give them a pass because of their current situation.

Losing four of your key guys for the playoffs is obviously a massive blow to any team.

Fortunately for them, they should continue to be one of the teams to beat in the Eastern Conference for the foreseeable future.
