The Denver Nuggets are a good team because of Nikola Jokic.

They’re a very good team because of his chemistry with Jamal Murray.

And they’re a contending team because of Mike Malone’s coaching.

However, they were a championship-caliber team because of their depth, and that didn’t show in Game 7.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope’s shot wasn’t falling, Aaron Gordon wasn’t a factor on either side of the glass, and Michael Porter Jr. struggled mightily from the floor.

That’s why they weren’t able to get the job done, at least according to former NFL star Keyshawn Johnson.

Talking on “Undisputed,” Johnson claimed that it seemed as if all of their role players had suddenly forgotten how to play.

Jokic and Murray were still solid and got their numbers, yet the rest of the supporting cast went completely missing in action.

The Nuggets are a deep team with multiple guys who could step up on any given night, and that’s what they needed from them.

The role players failed the stars, and the Minnesota Timberwolves also deserve plenty of credit for staying locked in, taking things one possession at a time, and making sure to take care of business even when the game seemed out of reach.

The Timberwolves came back from a 20-point deficit to secure the largest comeback in a Game 7 in NBA history.

So, even if we can’t take anything away from them and what they did to secure the win, it will still feel as if the Nuggets also blew this chance.
