The Indiana Pacers are undeniably underdogs for their upcoming Eastern Conference Finals matchup with the Boston Celtics.

But they have surprised people before and could do it again.

Kendrick Perkins spoke with Pat McAfee, via NBA on ESPN, and said he thinks that this is going to be very intense for both teams.

“I have this series going seven games,” Perkins said, stating that not enough people give the Pacers credit for all they have done this season.

Perkins celebrated several Pacers stars, including T.J. McConnell and Pascal Siakam.

But he also praised the man he considers the best point guard in the NBA: Tyrese Haliburton.

Altogether, he thinks they have what it takes to beat the Celtics or at least push this series to its limit.

The Pacers have shown a lot of promise during these first two rounds, according to Perkins.

They were showing a lot on Sunday afternoon in Game 7 against the New York Knicks.

Despite being underdogs in that game, they were able to blow out the Knicks while playing in New York.

Plus, their scoring was unstoppable and they had the best shooting performance by any team in playoff history.

That is one of the big reasons why Perkins believes they could give the Celtics a run for their money, regardless of what many other people say.

It is key that the Pacers formulate a game plan that has them performing like they did on Sunday.

They are a strong offensive team but so is Boston, so this will easily be their biggest challenge yet.

The betting sites and sports analysts have all had their say and now it is time for the Pacers to try and make a statement.
