Luka Doncic has been in the NBA for years now, so people seem to think of him as a proven and seasoned veteran.
That’s true to some extent, but he hasn’t even reached his prime yet.
That’s why sports analyst Nick Wright wanted to take some time to give him his flowers and put in context just how insane his postseason career has been thus far.
Talking on First Things First, the controversial pundit stated that people are overlooking and underrating Luka because they’ve gotten used to watching him put up video game-like numbers more often than not.
“Every year of Luka’s career, except for one, he’s continued to exceed expectations.”

He believes that his similarities to James Harden made people think that, like Harden, he wouldn’t be able to find success in the postseason.
However, Doncic has been an underdog in every single series he’s played thus far, and he’s never had homecourt advantage but once.
Wright also pointed out the fact that Doncic has gone against a top-9 defense in the playoffs in all but one series, and he’s reached the Western Conference Finals as the best player on his team twice by the age of 26.
We tend to think of Doncic as a guy who should’ve won at least one MVP and one NBA championship already, and those expectations are simply not realistic, especially considering the supporting casts he’s had.
So, perhaps it’s time we give credit where it’s due and tip our hats to the Slovenian star.
