After spending his entire NFL career with the Green Bay Packers, superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers was traded to the New York Jets in a blockbuster move that sent shockwaves throughout the league, with many believing the storied franchise had found the missing piece to the championship puzzle.

Unfortunately, Rodgers’ first season with the Jets was cut short, as he went down with a season-ending Achilles injury in the team’s first game against the division-rival Buffalo Bills.

With Rodgers stuck rehabbing from an injury that has ended a lot of careers in the past, he was linked with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who wanted the four-time NFL MVP to be his running mate for the 2024 election.

Although Rodgers’ values seem to align with Kennedy’s, he chose not to accept the invitation because he wanted to continue his playing career with the Jets, as he recently admitted via Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.

“There were really two options,” Rodgers said. “Retire and be his VP or keep playing. I wanted to keep playing.”

With Rodgers’ political career not yet ready to get underway, if that’s what he chooses to do in his post-playing career, he will try to bounce back from a forgettable first season in New York in an attempt to win another Super Bowl.

The Jets are expected to be a force to be reckoned with in the AFC during the 2024 campaign, as the team seems to be stacked offensively and once again formidable on the defensive side of the football.
