Over the last few years, former Denver Broncos head coach and current New York Jets offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett has been widely criticized for his performance on both teams’ coaching staffs.

Despite not exactly proving his worth in Denver or New York, Hackett has been able to keep his job on the Jets coaching staff, with head coach Robert Saleh still seemingly having faith in the offensive coordinator.

During a recent press conference, Hackett was asked if he still feels like Saleh has full confidence in him, in which he answered “yes,” which seems like a typical response even if it is not true, per SNY.

Q: “Do you feel like Robert [Saleh] still has full confidence in you?”

Hackett’s job security in New York could be directly related to his relationship with superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is very close with the offensive coordinator and has had nothing but high praise for him.

Although Hackett is currently safe heading into the 2024 NFL season with the Jets, it would be safe to assume that if the offense falls flat during the upcoming season, he could be among the firings during the offseason if New York chooses to clean house.

The Jets will be in a must-win situation during the 2024 campaign, considering all the moves the team has made to put a title-contending squad on the field.

That said, the team, coaching staff, and players will be under tremendous pressure next season to produce a winner, and only time will tell if the Jets are able to live up to expectations and make a run at winning a Super Bowl.
