Bronny James is about to make it to the NBA.

Needless to say, the hype isn’t anything close to what it was when LeBron James declared for the NBA Draft, nor should it be.

Unlike most young NBA players, Bronny knows where he stands and has realistic goals and insights about his game.

He knows he’s not like his father — no one is — and what he can bring to the table.

Recently, he compared himself to guys like Jrue Holiday, Davion Mitchell, and Derrick White, stating that he feels like he can have that kind of defensive impact on the game and can help teams with his winning plays.

With that in mind, JJ Redick asked LeBron whether he had talked with him about those comparisons or if it was all about him.

In the latest edition of Mind The Game, LeBron claimed that it was all Bronny, stating that he wanted him to figure things out on his own.

James also said that all teams need those kinds of defensive-minded, pesky guards, and while their impact doesn’t always show up in the box score, it definitely shows when it comes to winning.

Bronny knows he’s probably not an All-Star-caliber player at this point in his development, and he might never be.

But that’s just fine.

Just because he’s LeBron’s son doesn’t necessarily mean he has to abide by certain standards; he’s his own player.

Also, even if this draft class isn’t impressive, chances are many teams in the league would love to have that kind of guard on their roster.
