The Pittsburgh Steelers made waves earlier this offseason by trading for former first-round quarterback Justin Fields.
This trade came after the team signed former Super Bowl champion and nine-time Pro-Bowler Russell Wilson.
Just to make it clear, this is Wilson’s team.
There is no competition.
If Fields is hoping to reinvigorate his career, this isn’t the best place to do it in terms of being on the field.
Just ask FOX Sports’ Colin Cowherd.
“I would argue that this is actually not a great place. Pittsburgh has struggled offensively…It’s a tough division with great pass-rushers everywhere,” Cowherd recently said on “The Herd.”

The only way Fields gets any playing time would be if Wilson gets hurt or if Mike Tomlin decides to use him in a couple of running packages.
He is going to have to revive his career from the bench by taking notes and learning from a future Hall-of-Famer.
This isn’t like the former Ohio State star came to a great offensive team like the Packers or 49ers in an effort to become a better thrower of the football.
Yes, he needs to improve in terms of the air attack.
However, he came to a struggling offensive franchise and won’t be able to get much playing time in the long run.
He is going to need to take a little bit of the Baker Mayfield medicine, sit and watch, and then go find another opportunity elsewhere if he wants to be a starter.
That is the only way he will improve this season.
