Draymond Green has been a polarizing figure in the NBA for several years.
While he has been a massive part of the Golden State Warriors roster, especially during their championship runs, some of his actions have been perceived poorly.
Green had several technical fouls and ejections during the 2023-2024 NBA Season, which resulted in him getting suspended for a time.
This caused many public figures to talk about him in a negative way, including the likes of Stephen A. Smith.
Smith is also a polarizing figure in his own right, as some fans and players don’t like the way he talks about sports.
Even with this in mind, Smith is a very popular sports media figure who continues to give his takes on various situations.
Green wanted to make his feelings heard after hearing what Smith had to say about him, especially during his darkest times.
He recently appeared on “The Big Podcast” with Shaquille O’Neal, where he wasn’t afraid to be honest.
“But to sit back and see those that claim to know and appreciate me as a human being just flow with the narrative because it was easy to do? I lost a lot of respect for a lot of people,” Green said.

Green indicated that he and Smith have a personal relationship, which made it extra difficult for him to hear Smith’s comments.
He did say that Smith has a job to do in sports media, but at the end of the day, Green made it seem like the two of them are friends off-camera.
However, after all of Smith’s comments from the past year, that relationship could be in real jeopardy.
