The Seattle Seahawks entered the offseason with a lot of questions surrounding their team.
One of the biggest questions for the Seahawks was about Geno Smith and what his future with the team looked like.
There was speculation that the team was potentially looking to the draft to try and replace him, which didn’t end up being the case.
Now, the Seahawks are slated to roll into the 2024 season with Smith as their starter, hoping to put together a better year in Mike Macdonald’s first season as head coach.
With all of the Smith questions in mind, Macdonald wanted to make sure to clear the air in a press conference shared by Bob Condotta on Twitter.
“I think he’s answering the call, really excited about about Geno to this point,” Macdonald said.

He also praised Smith’s leadership, hoping it will continue to be a priority for this team.
Macdonald’s offense will likely look a lot different than Pete Carroll’s, which could provide some growing pains during the first few games of the season.
Smith is an NFL veteran, so he’s not a stranger to a new locker room or situation.
With any luck, he’ll be able to adapt to the new system quickly, resulting in a better year for the Seahawks, potentially bringing them a playoff berth.
The NFC West isn’t getting any easier, as the San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Rams, and Arizona Cardinals are all taking steps to improve.
