In one of the more important contract situations going on in the NFL right now, the 49ers and All-Pro wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk are currently in a standoff.
The former first-round pick has been wanting a new contract from the team all offseason.
While some believe he is worth major money, there are others, like former Super Bowl winner and Pro Bowl wide receiver Greg Jennings, that think he won’t get his money.
“As great as he is, he’s not gonna get that money ($35 million per year)…It’s the value that you bring to those teams…He’s good enough to get that 30 mark ($30 million),” Jennings recently stated on The Carton Show.

Aiyuk is a really good receiver, especially in San Francisco.
He is the team’s best true wide receiver.
The former Arizona State star can line up anywhere on the field and can also get open any way he wants.
Aiyuk set career marks in receiving yards (1,342) and yards per catch (17.9) in 2023.
He has had back-to-back seasons with 75+ receptions and 1,000+ receiving yards.
However, he isn’t Davante Adams or Justin Jefferson.
With the likes of Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, and Christian McCaffrey out in the Bay Area too, he isn’t exactly a guarantee to lead the league in receiving.
He’s good for some solid numbers for sure.
But in the end, he is a role player that is worth good money, not record-setting money.
The San Francisco 49ers need to find common ground with Aiyuk in an effort to keep him in the building.
They just can’t break the bank for him.
